On December 11-15, 2017 Rector and Vice-Rector of the Odessa State Academy of Construction and Architecture visited PWSTE in Jarosław.
Rector, prof. Anatolii Kovrov and Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the State Academy of Building and Architecture in Odessa, prof. Oleg Popov got a diploma certifying their active part in conducting of classes for students during a few days staying in PWSTE within the Erasmus + program. The guests also had a meeting with Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of PWSTE, Ryszard Pukała, PhD. Eng.

The academic workers arrived in PWSTE, Jarosław at the invitation of Magdalena Bojarska, Head of the International Cooperation Department, who was responsible for their staying within the Erasmus + program.
Realizing the above programme, the authorities of the Odessa State Academy of Construction benefited from the Erasmus+ programme widened by the scope of its activities to countries beyond the European Union as part of the educational mobility of students and academic staff, resulting from the cooperation of PWSTE, Jarosław with partner countries.
The Deputy Director of the Institute of Technical Engineering, PhD Agnieszka Sobala-Gwosdz took care of the guests during their staying at the Institute of Technical Engineering (Construction Faculty.
During a few days meetings it was discussed the ongoing and future cooperation regarding youth exchange, as well as the organization of conferences or joint publications.
The arrival of the professors was possible due to the efforts of Magdalena Bojarska, Head of the International Cooperation Department, PWSTE Jarosław, as PWSTE was the applicant institution that received a grant in Action 1 "Educational mobility" in the Erasmus + program, where institutions can get funding not only for students and academic staff exchange with the countries participating in the program, but also with partner countries from outside the European Union.
The academic teachers visited individual campus units of our School. While having meetings with the PWSTE lecturers, they planned another visits. They were shown a recreation and rehabilitation center with a gym, a studio for rehabilitation and recreation exercises, and a room with armchairs for a self-massage. The guests were particularly interested in modern laboratories of materials strength, construction physics and concrete technology. The guests were shown a test regarding strength of standard bars for bending and compression, the use of a thermal imaging camera, as well as a cycle of preparation of cement mortars.
In addition to a multimedia presentation showing the advantages of the Odessa State Academy of Construction and Architecture, the curriculum of Ukrainian professors included lectures for students of Construction Faculty on materials strength.
The listeners focused on the basic concepts, types of deformation, materials strength, classification of loads, types of structural elements, criteria for objects assessment, internal forces and its determination. It was also discussed the issues of stress, showing the connections between the internal forces and stress.
In addition, the issues of determining the center of gravity and tension of internal forces in the cross-section and their relation to the nature of deformation and destruction were raised.
During the meeting with the students of Construction Faculty it was analyzed the results obtained by means of a Computer Science about materials. The aim of the lecturer was to provide the listeners with knowledge regarding materials designing with the assumed structure and properties using computer aided methods. In addition, the basic types of computer methods used in the design of materials are listed and described.
The foreign guests admired modern equipment of our School and were delighted with cordial hospitality.
