The Head of the International Cooperation Department and Spokesperson of the Bronisław Markiewicz State University of Technology and Economics in Jarosław, MSc Magdalena Bojarska and foreign students who are staying at the University within the Erasmus+ Programme organize a charity campaign for the Homeless Animal Shelter in Orzechowce which takes place from 28 December, 2022 to 31 March, 2023 at the PWSTE campus and at some stores.

The action is supported by the Honorary Patronage of the Rector, prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Rejman.

The purpose of the initiative is to provide the animals in the shelter with the material assistance. The marked cartons will be used for dry and wet food stuffs – with an emphasis on wet dogs and cats food, blankets, as well as for toys, leashes, collars and cat litter, due to which the pets will be able to survive in winter.

Currently, there are some hundreds of animals in the Homeless Animal Shelter in Orzechowce. They are mostly victims of accidents or of exhaustion caused by lonely wandering around the town or by negligence of the previous owners. Like the participants of the shelter team, who want to help the animals staying in the shelter, we dream about more and more empathetic people who would like to join us and be eager to help our smaller suffering pets.

There are various ways to support shelter residents - from provision of a temporary place of residence, due to financial and material help - to volunteering, spending free time while walking the dogs. We strongly encourage you to do it.

We  kindly ask you to help the dogs and cats. If you have a possibility to provide a shelter animal with a place of residence - do not hesitate to do it. On the other hand, if you want to help, but you don’t have the possibility of physical adaptation, you can become a “virtual pet-sitter”. Adopting a dog or a cat virtually, you support them financially.
